So on the 24th October 2016 I will be 36 years old. Not a particularly special number at all and just another birthday. In years gone by I have celebrated by having a fair few drinks, meals and been lucky enough to receive presents from generous friends and family. I feel blessed when that happens and it’s wonderful to know that I have people around me that care enough to enjoy the moment with me.

But this year I would prefer to keep it low-key and would like to ask you to celebrate with me by making a contribution to charity:water (instead of buying me a gift).

They're a charity focused on one simple thing - CLEAN WATER.

My aim is to reach a total of £360 ($468). This will give 15 people access to clean water - That's worth having a party about!

I’m unbelievably LUCKY that I live in an environment where I can enjoy home comforts and small luxuries and I get to see my children grow up with plenty of opportunity around them. Yet in contrast, there is an equally UNLUCKY set of people who don’t even have their basic needs met. And no matter how hard they try they don't have the resources to change their situation.

There is no difference between me or them - I was just born in to a luckier set of circumstances. For that I’m truly grateful.

There are are a ton of great resources on here, videos, articles and stats which will tell you WHY clean water is important.

So if you make a donation, 100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
