Why do we deserve birthday gifts/money/drinks for living another year in a very stable community? We don't, so instead of gifts, I am asking for donations, to people who are really suffering from a problem that can actually be solved. I got the idea to do this from The Liturgists podcast on suffering and I got the power to give through the Holy Spirit!

How often do we really sacrifice to help someone in need or suffering..

Some 663 million people on our planet drink dirty and dangerous water. It's a massive number, but it's getting smaller. Ten years ago, it was 1.1 billion. Last year it was 748 million. We, as a planet, have nearly cut the water crisis in half. And we truly can solve this problem in our lifetime.

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be "dying of thirst". We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. Women and children walk 4-8+ hours a day just for dirty water, a basic human need. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
